Chicago...

My hubby and I set out for a long weekend in Chicago, this last Friday. After packing the car, giving a little snack to the animals, saying good-bye to the boys, stopping for cash and filling up the car, it was 05:40 and we were finally off. We had intended on leaving by 04:00, but, well, you know how that goes. I drove for about 5 hours, which is really, really good for me. Once we got past Madison, Wisconsin, David took over driving, because there was a lot more traffic, and I didn't feel comfortable driving into the O'Hare area, and I was tired and I'm just a weenie! We were on the road roughly 6 1/2 hours. We parked our car at a place called Park and Jet for $35.00 for 3 days. It would have cost more than that to park one day in Chicago, and we certainly weren't going to drive IN Chicago, that's just insane. The Park and Jet people shuttled us to the airport where we bought our cta 3 Day Pass tickets and took the Blue Line train into downtown Chicago. In the train terminal there are ticket machines...some of which take Visa and the like and others take cash only, without giving you back any change. If you put in a $20 and want a 3 day pass for $14, well you end up paying $20. Fortunately there was a Very nice man standing there helping, answering questions, giving advice so we were able to get our cta tickets for the correct amount.
